Was my Rolex watch switched at the Rolex authorized repair shop? by goslugs! (Registered User) Date: 03/29/2002, 17:52:32 In response to: |
Hi folks- I just picked up my Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ladydate from my local Rolex authorized repair shop (a reputable local jeweler) to repair for losing time. My watch has the stainless jubilee bracelet, engine tuned bezel, silver tapestry face and slits for dates (my sister has the same watch but with the platinumn bezel). However, the silver tapestry face is no longer silver...it's pinkish tapistry but not the Rolex pink or Rolex abena. Today, I took it back to the owner of the jewlery store (watch repair person wasn't in)to verify it was my watch and to see perhaps the face was swapped out. The serial number matched up on the round watch part when the band was removed. The owner said the face was not switched but it was due to water getting in through the little round winder that causes discoloring. Is this legitimate? Does this really happen? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks for all your help! goslugs! I apologise if this is a duplicate post. |
